ET for material identification

Did you know that the eddy current (ET) method can be used not only to test for discontinuities, but also to identify materials? ET is a comparative method, so it requires samples for identification, and allows us to identify materials by comparing their conductivity. Admittedly, it will not give us the exact chemical composition like a spectrometer, but such a test can be performed much faster.
