Qualification of WPQR welding technology is divided into stages:

- analysis of welding production - determination of variables such as types of welded materials, their thickness, types of joints, welding positions and such like,

- selection of the appropriate test connector,

- preparation of the initial welding technology manual – pWPS,

- welding of specimen joint,

- non-destructive and destructive test of the test connector,

- issue of technology qualification protocol by the notified body – WPQR,

- finalizing the welding instruction manual – WPS.
