By leak tightness testing using bubble emission technique, the tightness of the welded joints of technical equipment and tanks is checked. A vacuum chamber device is used to locate leaks using the C.3 technique according to PN-EN 11593 "Non-destructive testing - Leak testing - Bubble emission techniques".
The test is carried out using a liquid applying technique. The test gas is air. The generated pressure is not less than 1 bar.
The tested surface must be clean and the object temperature between 5 and 50 ° C. Misalignment, non-perpendicularity of joined plates at the T-joint, corners, round shapes sometimes make it difficult or even impossible to perform the test. We recommend to perform another type of leakage test, e.g. dye penetrant testing for tightness.
